Course Outline
Prevention of alveolar bone loss and maintenance of alveolar bone structure are crucial for long term success and stability of conventional and implant-supported prosthetic replacements. The effectiveness of socket preservation and guided bone regeneration in preserving and regenerating hard tissue in extraction sockets is well documented in the scientific literature. Soft and hard tissue deformities resulting from tooth extraction can lead to unsatisfactory results including unacceptable esthetics, poor phonetics and compromised homecare practice.
